Suppliers Make the World Go Round

When it comes to commerce and all things that make life livable, (food, clothing, shelter, transportation) we realize that we cannot function without the supply chain. Although many outside our industry tend to think about it in the abstract, financial supply chain professionals understand that without this chain, we wouldn’t have food, clothing, etc. Heck, we wouldn’t be able to turn on our flat screen TV and watch our favorite baseball team’s chase for the pennant (or, kickoff weekend if you’re a football junkie), not to mention the ability to get in our cars, drive to work, earn a paycheck to pay for that flat screen.

As the leader of a team building this new venture, I regularly call on the experiences of a career spanning more than 25 years. It includes a number of years as an independent consultant as well as time at several well-known companies such as Tungsten Network, Delta Air Lines and Georgia-Pacific. After that much time, I understand how critical the supply chain is to our modern world. I’ve also been on both sides of it; purchasing goods and services from providers and selling much of the same to customers.

Like many things in our world, money makes the supply chain go ’round. That’s why it’s important to have great resources available for professionals who not only want to improve their personal understand of the space, but want to positively impact their company’s financial bottom line.

After spending the last 6 years in this space, I’ve seen the value suppliers bring to the supply chain. That desire to cultivate knowledge and understanding among suppliers while also delving into what they do, how they do it and why they do it is the reason we started Receivable Savvy. Our hope is to be the primary source of financial supply chain information for Accounts Receivable professionals in the areas of invoicing, remittance, and credit and collections. We plan to allow curiosity to be our guide while also providing a platform for professionals to receive and share best practice information among themselves.

My team and I look forward to serving this community and hope all participants find it of much value.

So, pull up a chair and stay awhile. You’ll be glad you did.
